Energy Minister Simeon Brown has told the Electricity Authority to hurry up on making changes to market rules, including the potential virtual separation of the major generator/retailers.Brown has issued a Statement of Government Policy to the authority under the Electricity Industry Act.While the authority is an independent body, it must “have regard” for a policy statement issued by the minister.Much of the statement is an emphasis on existing government policy, the move to electrification, the stresses put on the system by the in...
