An inquiry into the collapse of a transmission tower that cut power to Northland in June says grid operator Transpower was warned about inadequate training of contractors.The Electricity Authority’s report into the collapse also says Transpower and the contracting company Omexom refused to give some information to the inquiry.Energy Minister Simeon Brown also noted the report recommended greater use of distributed generation that could form "energy islands" when the national electric grid has major failures.The review’s&nb...
