Inland Revenue (IRD) has written off interest payments and penalties for nearly 46,000 companies due to covid-19 this year.Figures released under the Official Information Act (OIA) show IRD granted relief to 40,371 companies in 2020, rising to 45,983 in 2021 through to the end of October.In the OIA letter, Inland Revenue's micro and not-for-profit business customer segment leader Richard Philp said many businesses had struggled since the start of the covid-19 pandemic.IRD had relief options available for those having trouble meeting their t...
