The government’s $100 million kickstart to the development of a green hydrogen market, outlined as a rebate in the 2023 budget, will come in the form of a hydrogen "auction" process.The programme, focused initially on Southland, has an initial 10-year life cycle and aims to price hydrogen at more attractive levels than fossil fuels and create long-term price certainty for commercial users. Key users are seen as industrial chemical processors, such as fertiliser companies, and large transport operators.Dean Ford, general man...
