Concrete roads are cheaper than asphalt roads over a 40-year period and may be better for the climate, a new report suggests.Industry body Concrete New Zealand commissioned economics consultancy Infometrics to compare the whole-of-life costs of asphalt and concrete roads.The report, launched on Wednesday by Transport Minister Simeon Brown, drew on international studies and local data comparing the two roading materials.
