Up to 50 jobs are at risk at Methanex amid doubts there will be sufficient gas to resume production from the company’s Waitara Valley plant any time soon.The company, the country’s biggest gas user, shut the plant indefinitely last month after deciding in December to cancel plans for a major maintenance “turnaround” due to reduced supplies from the offshore Pohokura field.
