Building activity fell 8.6% to a seasonally adjusted $3 billion during the quarter ended Sept 30 on the prior quarter, reflecting the impact of Auckland's 107-day covid lockdown.Stats NZ construction statistics manager Michael Heslop said it's the first major misstep since the industry contraction last April caused by very similar reasons.The biggest impact of the lockdowns through August and September was felt in non-residential building, which fell 12%, while residential builds came off 6.4% quarter-on-quarter, Stats NZ data shows.Auc...
