Ministers considered offering a subsidy to keep Marsden Point operating as an oil refinery, a cabinet paper shows.The paper released from a September meeting shows energy minister Megan Woods said the closure of the refinery is expected to have little impact on fuel supply resilience under most disruption scenarios.“But it could reduce New Zealand’s resilience to a low likelihood but high consequence event that leaves New Zealand with no ability to import fuels,” the paper said.Refining NZ is planning to shift to an import-onl...
