Global private equity firm KKR has bought the Natural Pet Food Group as it looks to add premium brands for animal lovers to its existing stable of pet food investments.Natural Pet Food chief executive Neil Hinton said the sale was hotly contested between a number of would-be buyers with KKR ultimately winning out.The details of the deal remain secret, but another local pet food brand, Ziwi Peak, is rumoured to be for sale at roughly $400 million.The investment expands KKR’s foray into the pet food sector after it bought China-based pet fo...
