A businessman convicted of 45 dishonesty charges against his former employer has lost a bid for permanent name suppression in the high court at Auckland. Four land companies connected to the businessman, and collectively named "the employer", also failed to secure permanent name suppression for themselves and the man. The man is currently awaiting sentencing on offences alleged to involve more than $1 million, although Justice Timothy Brewer stated the final figure had yet to be calculated.
