Dunedin businessman Malcolm Burns has been declared bankrupt after a string of insolvencies.On June 12, Justice Dale Lester in the High Court at Dunedin adjudicated Burns bankrupt after he failed to pay a creditor of one of his defunct companies for nearly a year. NZGT (FP) Trustee sought the bankruptcy on behalf of FleetPartners Group, a vehicle-leasing company. Thomas James, a private investigator who acted on behalf of FleetPartners, told BusinessDesk the bankruptcy is related to debts owed by Otago Excavation, a company that is bo...
