Today’s Mainzeal judgment is likely to mean creditors get more money because the court found its directors including Richard Yan and Jenny Shipley breached the Companies Act in another way.The liquidator for the construction company which collapsed in 2013 was broadly successful in the high court, obtaining a $36 million judgment, a third of what he claimed.The 186-page court of appeal ruling cements some of Justice Francis Cooke’s 2019 findings but overturns other bits.The case has now been sent back to the high court to calculate...
