A prominent businessman found guilty of sexual assault and trying to dissuade a witness was given two years and four months’ jail time today.The sentence was delivered by Justice Geoffrey Venning in a packed courtroom with more than 30 in the public gallery at the high court at Auckland this morning.The maximum sentences for the three sexual assault charges and the two charges of attempting to dissuading a witness, were seven years each.The judge said mitigating factors discounting the businessman’s sentence included his clean crimi...
