The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has confirmed a report that it has charged Christchurch economist and self-styled investor adviser Kelly Tonkin with what may prove to be one of New Zealand’s single biggest fraud cases.Auckland’s exclusive Diocesan School for Girls is just one of the many investors caught in the March 2020 collapse of Tonkin’s Cayman Islands-registered Penrich Global Macro Fund.Penrich claimed to have $137.2 million of assets under management but had a value of just $20.m, according to reporting by the New Zeala...
