Wealthy foreigners buying land and building houses could help to prop up New Zealand’s construction industry, says former Prime Minister John Key. Speaking at the Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) economic crisis summit in Auckland, Key said he was concerned about the economic impact from lack of work for the construction sector, and the absence of international students.
