Air New Zealand will pause its direct Auckland to Chicago service over the American summer amid ongoing issues with engine availability.The route will go on hold between March 31 and October 25 because of continuing challenges with the availability of serviceable Rolls-Royce Trent 1,000 engines, which are used in Boeing 787 aircraft.The route was launched in November 2018 as part of the company's expansion into the United States.Of all the options, pausing the Chicago service affects the fewest customers, the airline's chief customer an...
