Energy sector analysts are puzzled by the Electricity Authority’s wholesale electricity market review, but energy minister Megan Woods has used it as ammunition to fire shots and again indicated she is keen to look at political intervention in the market.The review looked at the workings of the market and a period of elevated wholesale prices.The Electricity Authority (EA) noted the influence of gas supply constraints and drought in the hydro catchment in driving up the price.However, it said not all these issues explained the price rises...
