Mark Stewart makes bid for struggling Comvita

Florenz, a subsidiary of New Zealand investment company Masthead, owned by Mark Stewart, has made a bid for Mānuka honey company Comvita. Shareholders in the NZX-listed company will receive 80 cents per share, representing a premium of 67% to Comvita’s closing share price on Aug 15. According to Comvita, the deal represents an equity value of approximately $56 million, an enterprise value of approximately $119m. The acquisition is subject to shareholder and high court approval. The deal is supported by Comvit...
