The recent sell-off of Mercury’s shares because of speculation about its place in the MSCI Standard Index offers a buying opportunity for investors, Forsyth Barr says.In a note to clients, the analysts said some had been selling their holdings in the electricity gentailer because of the possibility of its removal from the benchmark index, formerly known as the Morgan Stanley Capital International index.Mercury’s share price has fallen from $6.93 at the end of November to $6.03 in trading early Thursday afternoon.Possible exclusion f...
