NZ dollar gains against UK pound on election uncertainty

The New Zealand dollar strengthened against the British pound on ongoing uncertainty as the UK general election enters its final hours. The kiwi was trading at 50.28 British pence at 8am in Wellington from 49.80 British pence at 5pm yesterday. It was at 65.80 US cents from 65.85 cents, still supported by cautious optimism that US-China trade tensions are easing.
