The New Zealand dollar weakened as optimism at slowing covid-19 infection rates in some of the worst-hit countries fades. The kiwi was trading at 59.58 US cents at 5pm in Wellington from 59.82 cents at the same time yesterday and as much as 60.13 cents overnight. The trade-weighted index was at 68.29 from 68.63.
