NZ sharemarket rises on back of positive news

An upbeat a2 Milk, providing an earnings upgrade and a welcome dividend, spurred the New Zealand sharemarket to its highest close in nearly two years.The S&P/NZX 50 Index began a steep climb at midday and broke through the 13,000 mark after closing at 13,041.9, rising 276.66 points or 2.17%. The index gained nearly 2.8% for the week and is up more than 11% for the year.It was the highest close since Jan 5, 2022 when the index reached 13,150.38.
