Canadian billionaire Jim Grenon’s push for a board putsch at NZME could be seen as a takeover by stealth, a shareholder lobby group says. On Wednesday morning, the New Zealand Exchange-listed (NZX) media company revealed who could be NZME’s new board members after two shareholders submitted six nominations for shareholders to consider at its April meeting. Those names included that of Auckland-based billionaire Grenon, who holds more than 9% of NZME, and Caniwi Capital’s managing director Des Gittings.
