The tourist haven of Queenstown is better known for its stunning mountains, lakes and ski slopes than for hard-hitting news, but Peter Newport, the founder of local publisher Crux, is hoping to change that.Four years ago, the former TVNZ, RNZ and BBC broadcaster created Crux Publishing, a digital news outlet focused on events in Queenstown, Wānaka, and the wider Central Otago region. The company has gone on to establish a strong presence in a challenging and evolving local news market.Local news is hardly viewed as a lucrative industry in 2022....
