The New Zealand news media is shrinking quickly. By some estimates, NZ lost close to 20% of its journalists this week after TVNZ cut its Sunday programme, midday and late-night news bulletins and Warner Bros Discovery confirmed the closure of Newshub. More than 300 reporters were laid off and New Zealanders will receive far less news coverage as a result.Talks are ongoing to save some of this content.
