Radio NZ regains listeners in latest survey

Radio New Zealand has secured its highest listener numbers for the year in the final Growth from Knowledge (GfK) listener survey of 2021.The state broadcaster saw weekly listeners jump to 626,700 in the latest survey, up from 589,600 in September. It reverses a downward trend for Radio New Zealand (RNZ), which saw listener numbers plummet from a pandemic peak of 703,000 in September last year to the low point three months ago.RNZ has pulled in roughly 600,000 viewers consistently over the past five years.
