AJ Hackett Bungy gets govt lifeline

Tourism Minister Kelvin Davis has announced a $10.2 million lifeline for AJ Hackett Bungy NZ to keep the tourism venture alive through the covid-19 pandemic. The funding will be split up into a $5.1 million grant in the first year, followed by a $5.1 million loan in the second year, if needed. It draws on the government’s $400 million tourism package, and follows similar efforts to keep high-profile businesses solvent while their largely international customer base is blocked from entering the country.
