BNP signs NZX deal

BNP Paribas said it will become an NZX general clearing participant by the first half of next year, a move which it says will bring technical expertise to New Zealand.The French bank said it will bring its Third Party Clearing model to NZ, allowing direct members and remote brokers to use its model.General clearing participants clear and settle transactions for themselves and others but are not required to be participants in the market.NZX chief executive Mark Peterson said the move helps ensure the long-term health of New Zealand’s capit...
