The Canterbury A&P Association is facing a $500,000 loss after cancelling November’s NZ Agricultural Show.The association, which has managed the show for 157 years, axed the country’s biggest A&P showcase, citing the “risk to public health” of hosting an event that attracted upwards of 100,000 people through its gates.In recent history, the three-day event - held during cup and show week in Christchurch every year – has only been cancelled because of World War II.In a note to members and sponsors, associati...
