Greenhouse gas emissions in New Zealand rose by 0.2% or 33 kilotonnes in the June quarter compared with the previous one.The increase was driven by higher emissions from the transport, postal and warehousing industries, which were nearing pre-covid levels, Statistics NZ said. Emissions from this sector rose by 10.1% or 158 kilotonnes in the June quarter versus the March quarter.“As air transport has increased since the end of covid-related border restrictions, the number of flights and associated emissions from burning aviation fuels...
