Microsoft cleared to spend $100m-plus on data centres

The Overseas Investment Office has approved Microsoft’s plans to spend more than $100 million buying land and business assets to set up a data centre region in New Zealand.The office said the decision was approved on Aug. 25 allowing the global tech giant to buy land and assets from a number of different data centre service providers and property owners.
