An acting chief investment officer has been appointed to the crown entity managing the $75 billion New Zealand Superannuation Fund.The current CIO at the Guardians of NZ Superannuation, Stephen Gilmore, departs this month to take up the equivalent position at CalPERS, the largest pension plan in the United States, the crown entity said.Alex Bacchus, who joined the Guardians in 2009, is stepping in as acting CIO.Before he joined the crown entity, Bacchus worked for Goldman Sachs JBWere (NZ) as its director of derivatives.
