Pictor gets $500k for covid test

Biotechnology firm Pictor has been granted $500,000 to develop a test to detect covid-19 infection within an hour.The funds have been allocated from $25 million the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment has set aside to accelerate projects that could help detect, diagnose, treat or prevent the virus.Pictor chief executive Howard Moore said the firm aims to develop a test that would detect SARS-CoV-2 infection at all stages of the covid-19 disease.
