Stats NZ confident March quarter CPI data is robust

Almost half of the prices collected for Stats NZ's consumers price index are done by field collectors in-store, something that was halted by the covid-19 lockdown.Most of the quarterly collection had been completed when the covid-19 lockdown began to impact, Stats NZ said. “We had collected almost as much price data as usual, and are confident that this data is reliable,” it said.Data collected from websites was minimal.
