The National Road Carriers Association says transport costs surged 17% higher for the September quarter on the back of an 11% jump in diesel prices and the reinstating of full road user charges.The association's quarterly cost index tool, developed in tandem with economics consultancy Infometrics, suggests there is upward pressure across most cost categories.There are some signals, however, that costs have peaked across some areas, Infometrics' chief forecaster Gareth Kiernan said.Prices for tyres, for instance, fell for the second cons...
