The New Zealand dollar held its ground overnight, supported by the strong dairy outlook and new capital requirements for the banking sector that were less onerous than feared. The kiwi was trading at 65.46 US cents from 65.35 US cents at 5pm. The trade-weighted index was at 72.34 from 72.27.
