NZ dollar rises after Ardern declares state of emergency

The New Zealand dollar made up lost ground after Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern declared a state of national emergency to facilitate the fight against the continued spread of the covid-19 virus. The kiwi was trading at 58.39 US cents at 5pm in Wellington from 57.81 cents at the same time yesterday.
