NZ dollar weakens as Chinese manufacturing gauge shows contraction
By Tina Morrison Feb. 2 (BusinessDesk) - The New Zealand dollar touched a fresh four-year low at the weekend on concern about a slower outlook for the Chinese economy, Asia's largest and New Zealand's biggest trading partner. The kiwi touched 72.13 US cents, its lowest since March 2011. It was trading at 72.37 US cents at 8am in Wellington, from 72.58 cents at the New York close and 72.80 cents at 5pm in Wellington on Friday.
