Govt steers slow-ahead course on resuming live-animal shipments

The government is moving ahead cautiously with its election commitment to reinstate live animal exports.It plans to introduce legislation to parliament early next year followed by updated regulatory standards. After the change of government last year, the industry had been hoping live animal exports would resume by August 2024.
