The government has signed a contract with a United States technology company to provide a national ticketing solution for public transport. Transport minister Michael Wood announced the 15-year contract with Cubic, which provides systems in London, Chicago and New York, on Friday at the Britomart train station.As the NZ Herald has reported, the New Zealand transport agency, Waka Kotahi, first agreed to the introduction of a national ticketing solution in 2009. The new account-based system will allow riders to use contactless debit car...
