Samoa has called on New Zealand to do more to protect the rights of workers granted entry under the recognised seasonal employer scheme.The call for NZ to implement recommendations from a policy review came up at the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva on April 28.Policy recommendations from the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE) review were delivered mid-2023.Every five years, UN members are subject to a UPR, which assesses progress on various human rights issues within the...
