The government has beefed up measures to protect New Zealand from a deadly livestock virus rapidly spreading throughout Indonesia.Agriculture and biosecurity minister Damien O’Connor announced today that Biosecurity NZ will take new measures to stop foot-and-mouth disease reaching the country’s shores.The highly-contagious viral disease infects sheep, cattle, pigs, goats, llamas, alpacas and deer.
