The government is looking at giving local councils more control over how forests are managed and confirmed the permanent forest category of the emissions trading scheme (ETS) will open on Jan 1, 2023.The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) opened a consultation today to address how forests are managed through the National Environmental Standards for Plantation Forestry (NES-PF).
