On-farm inflation is at its highest in almost 40 years and is outstripping consumer price inflation, according to Beef + Lamb New Zealand (BLNZ). Prices for sheep and beef farm inputs increased 10.2% between March 2021 and March 2022, compared with a 1.1% decrease in the previous 12-month period, according to its latest sheep and beef on-farm inflation report.On-farm inflation is at the highest it’s been since 1985-86.Annual inflation is currently running at 6.9%, according to consumer price index data. The largest price increas...
