Workers brace for Kinleith Mill decision, Government looking at options

A day before workers at the Kinleith paper mill find out whether their jobs are safe, a senior minister told the House that the Government is looking at options.Last November, Oji Fibre Solutions announced a proposal to cease paper manufacturing at the Tokoroa site.“After extensive work and considering a variety of options, we are proposing to simplify Kinleith Mill’s operations by focusing on pulp and discontinuing lossmaking paper production,” Oji chief executive Jon Ryder said at the time.The Japanese-owned company employs...
