Yamaha Motor Co snaps up Tauranga's Robotics Plus

Japan’s Yamaha Motor Co has acquired Tauranga company Robotics Plus and it will form the basis of a newly launched United States-based company, Yamaha Agriculture.The deal is for an undisclosed sum but falls below the New Zealand/Japan threshold for the Overseas Investment Office (OIO) of $200 million. Yamaha Motor Co currently owns 14.66% of Robotics Plus, which employs around 130 staff and manufactures Prospr, an autonomous vehicle for the horticulture industry.
