Auckland property sales spiked before latest lockdown

Auckland buyers led another assault on the housing market in July, with total property sales spiking 30 percent from a year earlier, and the rest of the country following suit with almost a quarter more houses changing hands. The latest Real Estate Institute of New Zealand figures show a 24.6 percent increase in the volume of sales with 7,854 properties sold last month, the biggest July volume in five years.
