Booming construction demand has added another level to construction costs, jumping 2.2% in the latest quarter and helping push the annual inflation rate to 4.5%, according to the latest Corelogic Cordell housing data.That’s the fastest pace across any quarter since the index started in 2012 and the biggest annual increase since the first quarter of 2019. The index monitors the movement of construction costs across labour, material, plant hire and subcontracting services.
