When Vital Healthcare Property Trust's manager opted in early 2019 for Vital to be classed as a managed investment scheme, it might have thought it would have an easier ride than if Vital was classed as an equity security.It certainly looked that way at the time.The NZX had just introduced new streamlined rules governing managed investment schemes, exempting them from a number of requirements applying to equity securities, hoping that having less onerous rules would mean more managers would list their funds.It seems to have had some impact...
