Retailers using Eftpos machines with outdated security standards have been warned that they have one year to upgrade or face disconnection from the network.Merchants were told in 2017 that April 30, 2026, was the deadline to migrate to the PCI 4.x security standard.With just over a year to go, Payments NZ is reinforcing the timeline to ensure the industry remains on track.Jamie Wood, general manager of Clearing Systems at Payments NZ, said businesses should act now to avoid last-minute risks.“The upcoming dates have been known to industry...
